Mental Health Services
When hassles with work and family and stresses of everyday life affect behavior, prompt treatment is essential to mental well-being. Talking things over with a professional is an effective way of dealing with emotional pain.

At Human Services of Western Pennsylvania, Inc., we know how to listen in a caring and sensitive manner. Our staff members are carefully selected and include licensed social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists and mental health therapists.

We assure client privacy in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, while focusing on our clients’ needs—assisting them in developing goals and objectives in order to find positive ways of coping with a specific problem or concern. Click here to review Human Services' privacy practices.

Community Volunteer Services Program
Community Volunteer Service Program (CVSP) promotes volunteerism throughout the community and provides the criminal justice system with a viable sentencing alternative. Most importantly, CVSP is an intervention to a population at risk who might otherwise end up as serious offenders. After successful completion of the program, adult participants’ records are expunged.

Since its inception in 1994, CVSP has proven successful in working with first-time, non-violent offenders in providing volunteer placement within nonprofit agencies, monitoring volunteer service and verifying completed hours to the court system.

CVSP also functions as a referral network to human services within the community for participants and their families for such things as employment, education, housing, drug and alcohol treatment, etc.

Corrections Treatment Program
For more than 11 years, Human Services of Western Pennsylvania, Inc., has provided drug and alcohol counseling for inmates and mental health sex offender treatment counseling at several State Correctional Institutions. Our guiding principle is continuity of care through referrals to aftercare treatment programs upon release from prison. Successful work with incarcerated clients must begin while they are still incarcerated and continue upon their release.

The goal of treatment is to assist the individuals served in making behavioral changes, resulting in healthy and productive members of society. We also strive to reduce recidivism.
